Here is the obligatory bio
My name is Bob Priest. I met Jesus in 1985 when I was 22 after realizing I had many excuses but no reasons to not become His follower. I met my wife to be in 1987 and married in 1988. Our first daughter was born in 1990 followed by our second in 1993.
I attended Philadelphia College of Bible from 1985-88. I later graduated from Emmaus Bible College in 1990. I originally enrolled at PCB as a music major but God had other plans and called me to the Pastorate instead. I started Pastoring churches in 1987 while in school. I was ordained in 1991. I have had the privilege of Pastoring in Western Pennsylvania, Southwest Wisconsin, Northeast PA and the Southeast PA. I left the full time Pastorate in 2006 but not the church or ministry.
During those years I also was a camp Counsellor and later returned each year to teach at the camp. I think camp ministry totaled 20 summers.
What do I enjoy? My family, including our 2 adopted dogs. Reading. Tinkering with computers. Lots of music of all types. And when I can, taking my golf clubs out for a walk. I share my uncles philosophy on golf. If I am paying for this I am going to hit the ball as many times as I can.
Currently I am an Elder at Grace Covenant Church as well as play guitar on the worship team. When the opportunity arises I still get to preach and teach.
This blog is hopefully an extension of my desire to learn, grow and teach. If anything I am a theologian in progress. Truth is we are all theologians as we all have thoughts or opinions of God, deity, spirituality, the supernatural and the after life. That is why I call this Thoughts on Theology. We are all theologians and that we think about these things affects how we look at life. I hope more people will think deeply on these things and come to real, life transforming decisions.
My goal is to share what I am learning, interact with what I may be seeing and hopefully add some value to the conversation. What I do not want to do as the band Switchfoot said is add to the noise.
Along the way I may share some book, music and movie reviews. We shall see.
In the end I am hoping I am able to share something of value to the reader and allow the interactions with others to enable me to grow as well.
